Comfort + increased power + less fatigue + more aerodynamics = FREE SPEED

With hundreds of styles of yoga out there, not all are built for athletes. Most studio or online classes aren’t designed to complement your daily training — and can even work against it.

At The Athlete’s Lab, our yoga approach is intentional. We prioritize functional mobility, balanced movement, and breath control — without over-stretching or long static holds that can lead to instability or injury.

Each class targets opposing muscle groups, builds deeper body awareness, and helps you stay calm and composed under pressure — on and off the bike.

Meditation: the recovery tool you’re not using (yet).

Meditation trains the brain to handle stress — improving mental clarity, recovery, and heart rate variability (HRV). By tapping into the parasympathetic nervous system, we rewire how we respond to pressure, both on and off the bike.

For athletes pushing limits daily, this is a game-changer. If it’s not part of your training yet, now’s the time.

We’ll help you get started.

YOGA

A Personalized Flow

Not sure where to begin? Our bodies are different, and yoga is rarely a one-size-fits-all approach. This 90 minute session (at the Lab or on Skype) will help you find and know your personal alignments, modifications, and ways you can personally grow with your practice. Remember, your body is not symmetrical so don't get hung up on making the sensations symmetrical.

Hi, I’m Josh and thanks for stopping by my site.

My vision and goal is to share what I have learned over the past 25 years of professional endurance competition, training, and overall well-being.  I believe that training is much more than cranking out a prescribed workout via a powermeter.

At The Athletes Lab we focus on finding ways to balance, sustain, and progress on and off the bike.  Your races and training are only as strong as the ways you nurture them.  We train hard, but we recover harder.
